Therapy
Bloom & Balance works across the lifespan but specializes children, teen, and young adults. Check out some of what we focus on below:
-
Children may benefit from therapy if you notice difficult regulating emotions (large emotional reactions, difficulty communicating, aggression, etc), feelings of anxiety or worry, external transitions (parental separation, moving, loss of a family member or pet), or behavioral concerns. Child therapy does not mean something is wrong- there is so much learning and brain development going on throughout childhood.
Bloom & Balance approaches child therapy through developmentally appropriate interventions. This will often look like play, art, or other expressive means of expression! Parents also play a huge role in successful treatment and will be involved. This will be discussed with your therapist upon beginning treatment.
-
Adolescence can be a tough time- there’s a lot of physical and emotional changes that are going on. Teens may benefit from therapy if you are noticing fluctuations in mood, increase in anxiety, social challenges, low self-esteem, school challenges, and more.
Bloom & Balance approaches teen therapy through a developmentally affirming lens- offering a safe and private space to explore emotions, build skills, and develop a greater sense of self. Parents are still involved at this stage to ensure continuity but there may be more independence as well.
-
Anxiety may present as an increase in worry, overwhelm, or panic. This can look like avoidance, emotional overwhelm, or in physical symptoms (racing heart, sweating, tenseness, etc). Many seek out therapy to learn how to work with your anxiety rather than it being a constant battle.
Bloom & Balance approaches therapy for anxiety through evidenced based treatments to build insight, identify coping strategies, and manage environment more effectively.

Neurodiversity is a spectrum and encompasses many different presentations- ranging from Autism to ADHD to learning disabilities to OCD. We are not seeking to change or conform but learn to navigate neurodivergence in a world that is often not designed for you.
The goal is not to fit in but rather learn to embrace yourself and your brain, learning more about how neurodivergence impacts your well-being and sense of self. If you are formally or self-diagnosed, therapy may be the right fit to better learn to be authentically you.

Whether you have experienced a single or recurring traumatic event, large or small- trauma focused therapy may benefit from you. PTSD or impact of trauma may present as avoidance, emotional shut down, nervous system dysregulation, flashbacks/ nightmares, lack of safety or instability and more.
Bloom & Balance uses a variety of tools, ranging from relational care to Brainspotting to play therapy to address symptoms of trauma and PTSD. Trauma therapy can be slow and challenging but we will always ensure safety and stabilization to promote a more grounded sense of self.
